World Diabetes DayA deadly disease killing millions each year; it is growing by at least 3% per year in children and adolescents, and at an alarming 5% per year among pre-school children. It's also worth remembering that there is no cure...just treatment and of course prevention. 1. It's important to have your eyes and feet checked out regularly Shy, prevention is the only way forward I'm afraid. Down here we have one of the toughest regimes in the NHS when it comes to the detection and 'treatment' of diabetes. Unfortunately you don't know you have it until you go for a routine blood test - which usually means you have something else wrong. I've got my next check-up on 5th December and I have a feeling it's not going to be good news as I have been feeling very tired lately.

Thanks Span for posting this, I hope some of the people who read your blog but don't post read it.
